About the work

This is the first time I attempted to paint gradients all around the outline of depiction of liquid. In terms of color control, it was the first time I feel like I had mixed a genuine cyan and magenta that resemble what’s actually depicted on a digital screen. Visually, I was exploring the idea of a vase being both a vessel and a mask.

This panel is painted on both sides with the decorative pattern depicted in the photos. The top and bottom sides are painted in the same maroon color as the edge of the painting.

Florescent pigment was used to create this painting, the painting can glow under black light.

Special care instructions:

Acrylic gouache has a very matte finish, to retain this matte finish, make sure to wash your hands of oils before handling the painting or wear gloves for the handling. Dust with a soft brush.
